Failing to Understand a Joke

Another Typical Word Twist

Two days ago, Kerry stirred controversy when he told a group of California students that individuals who don't study hard and do their homework would likely "get stuck in Iraq." -Source: DAVID ESPO, Comcast.net, Associated Press

Now here's the part that separates someone with common sense from a total idiot.

How do you interpret the above statement. If you read it as a joke making fun of Bush's edumacation, then yes, you are not a complete moron. Good job.

HOWEVER, if you read it as "OMG, JOHN KERRY JUST SAID ONLY DUMB PEOPLE GO TO IRAQ, SO HE MUST BE TALKING ABOUT THE TROOPS!", then I hate you.

So it makes perfect sense that every member of the press, every representative in Washington D.C., and George Bush himself interpreted it as John Kerry hates the troops.

First off, I hate when some jackass reporter asks the insightful question, "Do you support the troops in Iraq?" Mainly, because the reporter's thinking, "OH! I'M TOTALLY OWNING THIS SENATOR WITH MY ORIGINAL QUESTION, I WONDER HOW HE WILL RESPOND?!?". This just in. No one has yet to say they don't support the troops. It's a retarded question to ask a politician, because if he didn't support the troops, it would already be very clear by his ideas, and it wouldn't be found out because some jerk asked him if he supports the troops.

It fact, fuck John Kerry's speech being offensive, I find it offensive when someone has to ask another person if they support the troops in Iraq. If you had to ask repeatedly, that means you imply that they do not support the troops, or else they wouldn't ask the question almost every fucking interview since the war started.

Now here's the hilarious part. God I wish I could play the audio of George Bush responding to this, but I'll just post it here for everyone to read. You tell me who's the dumbass:

The senator's suggestion that the men and women of Iraq of the military are somehow (pause.......) uneducated is insulting and it is shameful. (Pause for cheers of every dunce in the crowd too stupid to understand the joke against Bush.) The uhh, the u-members of the United State's(pause)military(pause...) are plenty smart. And they are plenty brave. And the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology."

They are plenty smart. Nice work. John Kerry just happens to be a Vietnam veteran. Why would he criticize 140,000 troops in Iraq?

John Kerry said in response:

"I'm sick and tired of a whole bunch of Republican attacks, most of which, come from people who have never worn the uniform, and had the courage to stand up to go to war themselves."

100% true. Bush is a draft dodger and signed up for a unit in a different state than his own so he wouldn't get shipped to Vietnam. The worst part of this all is the people who take Bush's side. What is wrong with all of them? Do they not realize John Kerry is able to make a speech without stuttering at least? How can you believe anything that comes out of Bush's mouth, especially something as retarded as this?

Now, I'm not saying the Democrats were any better in this whole thing, slow down there. The democrats have recommended that John Kerry cancel all of his future speeches now because he is hurting their image. They are just as worthless, and are too afraid to point out that everyone who believes that statement was against the troops is a dumbass. So instead they cast away Kerry, and claim they have nothing to do with him.

Also Cheney:

"Of course, now Senator Kerry says he was just making a joke, and he botched it up. I guess we didn't get the nuance. He was for the joke before he was against it."
